As a prepper and an ardent lover of the sea myself, I found this article about post-apocalyptic movies to be both intriguing and relevant. The way these films illustrate human survival in the most dire of circumstances is something I've always found compelling, and it ties in nicely with the survivalist mindset I've adopted.

While I do appreciate the realism in most of these films, I think it's important to remember that their version of a post-apocalyptic scenario is still a fictional construct. As a sailor, I've learned that real survival often involves a deep understanding of your environment and the ability to adapt quickly and efficiently, whether on land or at sea.

For those of us in the prepper community, these films can serve as useful thought experiments, prompting us to consider our own survival strategies in the event of a large-scale disaster. For instance, my own SHTF plan involves using our sailboat as a bug-out option, heading out to sea if things get really bad on land.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how these movies might influence your own prepping strategies. Do you find them helpful, or do they simply serve as an entertaining escape?

Lastly, I'd suggest including "The Road" in your list. It's a post-apocalyptic movie that taps into the human spirit and the will to survive in a way that few others do.

I think you may have missed it but "The Road" is in the list. And I agree it's a good film, it got an 80%.
