Kemps is a social and strategic card game played in pairs. The objective is to secretly signal your teammate to announce "Kemps" without the opposing team discovering your signal.
Setup for Kemps:
- Use a standard 52-card deck.
- Divide the players into two teams of two each, with teammates sitting across from each other.
- Shuffle the deck and deal four cards to each player, leaving the remaining deck in the center.
- Place a small token (like a coin) in the center as the "Kemps" token.
Objective for Kemps:
- The goal is for one player in each team to secretly signal their teammate to say "Kemps" when they believe their team has met the requirements (four cards of the same rank).
- The opposing team's objective is to catch the signal and announce "Stops" before the signaling team declares "Kemps."
Round Play for Kemps:
- The game is played in a series of rounds, with each round consisting of several steps.
- Each player is dealt four cards to start the round.
- Players can only communicate with their teammate through secret signals or gestures, without speaking.
- Teammates work together to form a set of four cards of the same rank. Once a player believes their team has the required set, they signal their teammate to say "Kemps."
- If the opposing team believes they have caught the signal, they can call out "Stops" to prevent the signaling team from declaring "Kemps."
- If the signaling team successfully announces "Kemps" without being caught, their team earns a point. If they are caught, the opposing team gets a point.

- The game continues with multiple rounds, and the first team to reach a predetermined number of points (e.g., 5 points) wins the game.
